WAGO’s Basic Controllers (i.e., 750-8000 and 750-8001) use a different web server and authentication method than some of WAGO’s other controllers (i.e., PFCs, TP600s, and CC100s).

With the BC100s, authentication uses **HTTP Basic Authentication** , which is handled by the web browser on the client side. The client browser must support Basic Authentication. If Basic Authentication is not supported or enabled by the client, the authentication process will fail with a **“401 Unauthorized”** error.

Example of the **AuthSchemes** policy in Microsoft Edge’s configuration

Additionally, the web server is stricter regarding URL entry in the web browser. For example, when WebVisu is configured as the default application, the full URL must be entered to access the WBM (e.g., [https://192.168.1.4/wbm/index.ssi](https://192.168.1.4/wbm/index.ssi)).

Conversely, on some other WAGO controllers, entering just “/wbm” after the IP address is sufficient to access the WBM.
