On the WP400, you can change the keyboard layout by clicking the globe icon on the keyboard.
For french, scroll down (there are some “empty” options), and “français” will appear.

To avoid having to do this after every restart, you can set it as the default.

To do this, change the “LANG” parameter from “en\_US.UTF-8” to the corresponding locale in the following files (which correspond to the different screen orientations):

/etc/profile\_cap\_0,
/etc/profile\_cap\_ccw,
/etc/profile\_cap\_cw
/etc/profile\_cap\_ud

For french (AZERTY) we will use “fr\_fr.UTF-8”

To do this with a single command line:

for f in /etc/profile\_cap\_0 /etc/profile\_cap\_cw /etc/profile\_cap\_ccw /etc/profile\_cap\_ud /etc/profile; do sed -i -e ‘/^export LANG=fr\_FR.UTF-8$/d’ -e ‘s/^export LANG=.\*/export LANG=“fr\_FR.UTF-8”/’ “$f”done

After that, the keyboard layout defaults to AZERTY.
