How to configure and program a 750-670 Stepper Controller

Hello,

I am writing to request assistance in preparing to program the WAGO 750-670 stepper motor controller using Structured Text (ST).

I would like to develop a program that enables proper configuration and control of the module, specifically regarding:

initialization and configuration of the WAGO 750-670 module,

stepper motor motion control,

setting direction, speed, and pulse count,

executing moves to specific positions,

handling module inputs and outputs,

utilizing status and diagnostic signals,

handling limit switches and the homing procedure,

responding to errors and emergency situations,

creating a clear program structure in ST within the CODESYS environment.

I am interested in both an explanation of the module’s operating principles and a practical program example that can be adapted to a specific application. I would also like to know which libraries, function blocks, and parameters should be used during the controller configuration.

I would appreciate any guidance on proper module wiring, hardware configuration, and the organization of the control program. Assistance in analyzing sample code and explaining the various variables and operating states would be particularly valuable to me.

Hi, there is a video tutorial on the Wago Downlod Center

On the youtube site is also the sample project shared.

Thanks for the help, but unfortunately, the video doesn’t solve my problem. I need a solution for the 750-670 and PULS/DIR control for an external drive.

Most of that video should still be applicable. In addition, check out the CODESYS Sample Projects found in the Learning Material area of the WAGO Download Center. Those samples include WagoAppStepper, which is the fb library you will want to use to work with the module, as discussed in the video.

Most of the specific module details, including operating principles, configuration options, wiring, diagnostic signals, etc., are all covered in the 750-670 hardware manual.

I suggest starting there. Another very good reference is this forum post: How to configure and program a 750-671 Stepper Controller
Your wiring for the 750-670 will be slightly different, but almost everything else is the exact same.

We may be able to help here with specific problems or questions you encounter, but you may be better off contacting your local WAGO office, sales manager, or application engineer for a thorough walkthrough of the module via a meeting if that is what you need.
