Please assist with Codesys 3.5, Add Device - Ethernet - Modbus TCP

Dear All,

Please assist, all software up to date and option to ADD DEVICE but no - Ethernet Adapter for Modbus TCP configuration. See image?

Hello,
What about in “Home&Building Automation” ?

Hi, No the option is not available.

Change the vendor to “3S - Smart Software Solutions GmbH”. There you can grab the ethernet adapter and then install the ModbusTCP device needed.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this.

Why is the vendor listed as 3S in your screenshot?

You can filter which vendor you want to use.
I prefer to not filter which enable to see all possible vendors.

Hello,

I am always prefer to use FB from libraries instead of clicking configuration in the tree.
But as I can see everybody expect to see clicking configuration from Wago in the CoDeSys like it was in the eCockpit.
Will this ever be possible?

In my case I use Modbus communication as with TCP and with RTU (750-652) and preferred libraries from Wago.

And second question
It will be possible to use Wago Modbus and Serial libraries not in the Wago PLC?
For example we want to use couplers with 750-652 but customer want to use PC with Linux Codesys Runtime.

Hello, that’s a really good question and unfortunately I don’t have the answer.
I know some libraries are vendor locked …
Maybe it will work, maybe not.

The WagoAppPLCModbus library throws an exception if it detects that it is not running in the Wago runtime.
And it is not clear it will possible to buy license for library separately.

In that case the best bet would be for you to contact the headquarters support service and/or your WAGO representative.
