PFC200 OPCUA connections problems with AWS Greengrass

Hello!

We have been trying for the past several days to read data with AWS Greengrass (OPCUA Client and MQTT Broker) from a WAGO 750-8212 Telecontrol Eco without success. The client manages to connect to the server and also browse the nodes, but it cannot seem to create a subscription. The recurring problem seems to be a “BadMonitorItemFilterUnsupported” error code 0x80440000, which we have arrived at using WireShark to monitor the packets. Similarly, Prosys OPC UA Browser has similar problems when connecting to the WAGO, although it manages to at least retrieve the value of the variables when refreshing. UAexpert, on the other hand, manages to create a subscription normally and retrieve live data.

Do you have any suggestions as to how to go about this problem? Does the WAGO just not support most OPCUA features? How do we change its filter approval?

Thank you in advance.

May I ask what Firmware version are you running? The OPCUA server has changed over time, from a WAGO server to the Codesys Server. Newer Codesys servers support more features of OPCUA.

Our WAGO Device has the Firmware Revision: 04.03.03(25) and we are running a Codesys 3.5.19.2 version application.

If this is an option, you may want to try FW29 (or the soon to be released FW30) as OCPUA has seen improvements since FW24 (Apr 2003)
