Hi,
In the WBM (web interface) of the wago plc, I deleted the default gateway in the network configuration (which was the gateway of a switch) and after that I don’t have access to the WBM and I can’t ping the WAGO anymore. However, I can still ping the switch.
I already tested to reset the WAGO physically by pressing the RST button for 10-15 seconds, but it doesn’t change anything.
I want to do a factory reset to restore the network configuration.
NB: I use remote connection via VPN because the WAGO is in another location.
Can you help me with the correct procedure for a complete factory reset of the WAGO PFC300?
Thanks in advance!
Hi WagoUser44,
If you just need access again, you can use the temporary IP feature instead of a full reset:
-
Set the mode selector to STOP.
-
Hold the RST button >8 s until the SYS LED flashes orange.
→ The PLC will take a temporary IP (e.g. 192.168.1.17 on X1).
You can then reach the WBM and correct the network settings.
If you prefer a full factory reset (clears user configs, passwords, and projects but keeps firmware/licenses), hold the RST button and mode switch in RESET until the SYS LED flashes red/green (~8 s). The PLC will reboot with defaults (IP 192.168.1.17 / 255.255.255.0 / 192.168.1.1).
Since you’re remote via VPN, someone onsite will need to connect locally after either method.

Hi Christian,
Thank you for your help, I will test the last solution.
It’s strange. I performed the factory reset and the SYS LED started blinking green/red, but after 10 minutes it’s still blinking green/red.
Update : I have access to the WBM of the Wago ! But the LED SYS is still blinking
Update 2 : I restarted the runtime in the WBM, LED RUN & IO are green but LED SYS still blinking
Update 3 : I rebooted the wago in the WBM and now everything is good ! LEDs are green !
