I am looking for an archiving and history solution for my WAGO PLCs. GIT only allows you to track program modifications on the Structured Text part, for example. But this does not allow a real backup with the hardware configuration, Firmware part, etc
WagoUpload is a great device to save all i need but it is not a solution for the archive and history part.
Currently, i use sharepoint to do my archive but it is not enough for my manager. Do u have a suggestion?
It depend, personally for me i’ve tested SNV but it was like GIT (and more prone to crash).
Now it’s more WAGO Upload coupled with Sharepoint/Onedrive.
It enable me to have full backup with also history possible.
But I only reuse the same name for small change and prefer a renaming for breaking changes. (I never trust a backup system which delete backup depending on their age and rate)

Im going to test MDT Software and copia.io. Maybe the price will be enough to convince my direction that Onedrive is good.
You might want to check out this company, they had a very cool demo with Codesys at Hannover Messe last year.

I had meeting with SDA and Octoplant.
SDA seem great. Better than OCTOPLANT.
But they are too expensive for my management.
Are you using the Codesys Pro version for GIT/SVN integration? This only works with the ST portion? Good to know, I still just go the Onedrive route as of now.

I used a few GIT. The problem is i am the only full automatician. The rest of the team is more electrician/ sensor specialist … And GIT in Codesys is not enough friendly for them.
I want also to be sure that the archive is a “true” copy of the code inside the PLC.
Maybe we will go to GIT but i’m not sure that is a true save than a Schneider or Siemens save.
One thing to note about the archive, it alone will not let you go online without a download. Also need the compile files to go online without download from a different device.
It is true. I’m so i used to rename each day the code with the date so always a problem when i download code:slight_smile:
I think the problem it is not wago but codesys for that!
