Currently I am looking for a solution to control PLC programs versions, for that I found out SDA( Software Defined Automation), I would like to know if it’s a safe solution to use, and if it’s practical, and have anyone use it before ?

I have not tested this, but here is what I think.
There are several SDA platforms, but Wago use CODESYS IDE that are yet not compatible for web based programming, readable target project files etc. CODESYS has announced that their new plattform (based on SDA principles) is named CODESYS Go! It’s not released.
It’s possible to buy license from other companies allready doing SDA where you need to install another 3. party runtime (not CODESYS) where vendor lock for installation/access is removed. Normally this company have tested this solution on the device.
For the just versioning there are allready solutions also for CODESYS.
